His name is Pooh, but I mostly call him baby. His street name is pooh-diddy
This is the cat that mysteriously appeared at my doorstep 8 years ago right before my Mother died. I swear I was out on the deck and looking around one second and the next he was sitting there....this was on a deck 30 feet up two flights of stairs....it was kind of mysterious....
He adopted me and he's been a great companion ever since. Great, great cat, best personality ever! I keep joking with Father that I would like him to be the Temple cat if possible....

Randy, great story, thanks for sharing it. I am not a cat person, my Mom's cat Irving bit me when I was a toddler and I've never really gotten over it..., but Pooh-diddy is one nice looking feline.
God bless,

He is such a beautiful cat, looks to be a Russian Blue. When my mother passed several years ago, I took her Russian Blue cat that looks very much like Pooh. Her name is Blue Belle. Very smart and sweet kitty she was. I hope also that mom will be allowed to reunite with her.

Hi, I also own a cat. And her name is Ollie. Ollie was surrendered by her owners. To a nearby animal shelter after suffering animal abuse. Sadly, she suffered from a broken arm, while in the care of owners. Enduring four long hours of critical, but restored surgery. " Not to mention T.L.C." Ollie today, is adopted, trusting. And remains with her original limb. "God is able."

Broken, tossed aside potsherd, now whole and with family.
God bless you.

Ollie is a sweet name. We named a friendly little skunk Ollie one year.

This is Bailey. He's been a family member for about 13 years now.
Very independent but real sweet.
Hard to tell, but he was actually licking his
lips as Claire snapped the photo.

Supper time!
We love him!

Does anyone have awareness?

Hello Randy
Nice cat! A cat once saved my life. When I was a teenager I went through a bout of depression, and my brothers saved a huge kitten from the New York winter that would surely have killed him. This cat took me from my depression, and then one day, years later, just died. I believe God sends animals into our lives for a reason, just like people.
Yours in Jesus Christ,Peter

Animals 'say' nothing, just love.
Father know when to send them.
I believe that too.

Does anyone have awareness? What do you mean? a game? or actuall awarenes?
I don't know the lifespan of an indoor cat.
I know so far the lifespan of an outdoor country
kitty is 13 years. I hope longer still.

Some indoor cats live to be 30 or more.
I cannot say for sure if cats are aware or conscious of the kitty they see in the mirror is them...I think when they look in the mirror they sometimes react as if it's another cat...whether they do or not, they are very intelligent, I have taught my cat to fetch like a dog. He will bring the toy back and drop it and runs off ready to fetch it again.

I got a kitting when I was 20 years old. He was very rambunctious, acting just like a small tiger and had light and dark gray stripes like a tiger. He was named Boris.
When I separated from my girlfriend back then he chose to live with her. At some point in time, he ended up with a relative of mine that went to jail. We were renting a house to that person, who had told my Mom that Boris had died. When we went to clear squatters out of the residence, it was filthy. In the master bedroom's bathroom closet, I saw the body of a familiar cat.
Outloud I exclaimed "Aawww, BORIS!!", at which point the head of the cat turned, looked at me and said "RRRAAAAOOOOWWWWW!!", which made me jump out of my skin.
We took Boris back to our house that day.
He turned 20 years old this past June. He can not hear anything but the loudest noises, so he starts at a barely audible meow and progresses to a caterwauling scream until he can hear himself.
My buddies cat was 21 years old when she passed away.
Both of these cats were indoor/outdoor cats with a history of cat fighting and general roughing it.
Thrity years doesn't sound unreasonable at all.
In Christ,
Jonathan

I've had cats all of my life and I've never had one live to be 30 although I wish they had. The oldest I had was almost 20. In his final years he had what I called dementia. I have 6 outdoor cats now, something keeps snatching them away lately, have lost 4 in the last few months alone. I guess its coyotes, I hate coyotes. The cats mostly stay on the porch where I have them a very nice kitty condo to live and play on. And they do rule their master in my case.

Hello Marylove,
I am using the word awareness as a verb, for the pretext of knowing (knowledge). It was a question.
Hope this helps your question,

I heard on Animal Planet that indoor cats had an average lifespan of 17 years. I know of one that lived way passed 20. He was a big black tomcat that belonged to a friend of mine.
