This year I tried a new thing and planted plants into straw bales. I found out sage loves that, dill, not so much. We were very blessed with rains at the right times this year.

Out here in this area the wheat harvest was the best ever at over 90 million bushels which had us all ranked 3rd in the nation. Praise God! We had some droughts and rough years, so seeing all these blessings for all our hard working farmers out here is awesome.

I grew up in the city and I've learned alot since moving out here, thanks to the patience of the great people out here. smile.gif I did not even know what straw was. I've learned that it is the left over stubble after the harvest of any of a variety of crops.

Back to my little straw bale . . .

So, when I planted the plants in the straw bale, I had no idea what kind of crop this straw stubble came from. When the rains came, first the bale sprouted grass- wheat grass, then actual wheat!

Now we have like 5 amber waves of grain sticking out of the straw bale. Ready for harvest. LOL I hadn't seen real live wheat growing before and thought I would share the picture in case there were people who grew up like me.

At harvest time the wheat bows over and the tares stand tall. wink.gif Father's plan is perfect. I will real easy to separate the wheat from the tares. The wheat bowing to our Father and the tares ever defiant. Bundle them up and cast them in the fire.

Gina that is definitely a nice photo and an amazing story. The symbology is nice. Guess since my old goat ate my tomato plants and other stuff this year I'm not doing to well in the planting department. I now know why God uses a goat to symbolize the tares. tongue.gif
