It was recently asked what our agenda is here.
The agenda here is to have a place where SCN students can get together to fellowship peacefully and find like minded SCN students to discuss what we have learned based on what we have learned from Studying with SCN and our own studies based on what we have learned from SCN.
To help each other with problems and questions that come up when we try to plant seeds among people who are of this world.
The agenda is to find other SCN students who feel all alone in the world because they have no one else to talk to and study with on a face to face bases, and maybe even get to know each other better by planning to meet up at FF and PO or to just make more like minded friends so that we can talk to someone else who knows what were talking about with out a lot of misconceptions about what we believe. Maybe even find people in the area that we live in that we might be able to get together to study with and develop closer friendships with.
For a lot of people who come here this is the first time they've met any other SCN students and their joy at finding someone to talk to is exhilarating to us all. I was on line for a year before I found another SCN student to talk to and were still good friends now, 6 years later.
The agenda here is to have a home that is a place of rest from all the stress of other forums where the main objective is debates and fights in an attempt to prove they know more and are a better Bible scholar then what our SCN teachers are on small points that differ from what PM teaches that grow into teachings that are in complete opposition to what we've learned from SCN.
We all have our favorite topics that we may know more about or have thought more about, studied more about, that we can bring to the table here to share what we've learned with others. Our Father has many gifts that He spreads around to each of us.. maybe His plan was that we would need to learn to get along together to be able to share with each other what we were given by Him.
We want this to be a place to rest, to rejuvenate our spirit, learn from each other and help each other with problems we've ran into planting seeds with people who do not have eyes to see and ears to hear what our Father is teaching us from His love letter the Bible. A place we can relieve our stresses from the outside world.
If you have questions or answers or a study you want to share or see something that is interesting that you think we as watchmen should be aware of fine post it, that is why we are gathered here. If you need help or prayer or just have questions you don't quite understand ( not all of us have been studying the same amount of time not all of us catch completely what was said in a study or get the same things out of it, we're all at different levels of understanding here so we're hear to HELP each other in a peaceful manner.
If you want to force your beliefs that are different from what SCN is teaching fine go start your own forum or join any of the many other forums where fights and debates and hurt feelings, divisions, and hatefulness are welcomed, controversy draws big crowds you can have your moment in the sun there.
satan is happy to see us divided and fighting with each other instead of helping each other, lets not give him that pleasure.
Don't come here and name call and try to stir up conflicts, strife and division among those who want a peaceful place of rest, friendship, peacefulness, and help with their Bible studies and a little good natured fun. It will not be tolerated for long and those kind of posts will be shut down or deleted to keep the peace.
Ask yourself would I say this to this person face to face? Will this hurt or help the person I'm posting too? Is this what our Father would want us to say? If not then maybe it's not a good idea to post it here either.
We don't want new people to have to worry about getting jumped on or made fun of for asking a question they are concerned about.
We do want this to be a friendly, helpful, learning home where we can all get together peacefully in a safe environment no matter if you've studied for a couple months, years or decades.
All our family here welcomes you to join our home and become a part of our family.
May our Father bless the time that you spend here.
We would like to add.
Pastor Murray teaches he would not discuss other Religions, denominations or Pastors by name because it serves no purpose, it doesn't edify. We are here to build up one another not tear down. Teach the WORD OF GOD AND LET THE CHIPS FALL WHERE THEY MAY. It's not our job to judge. We understand that occasionally questions about what other religions believe comes up in conversation. When they do, please refrain from biased, opinionated, and derogatory statements. Just address it as accurately and considerately as possible then move on, there's no point in dwelling on such topics. Many of us have friends and family that do not believe as we do. People with other beliefs may also come here to read to see what we believe, they might of heard something about us and want to check us out to see for themselves what kind of people we are. I'm sure many of us have been to sites that are very derogatory toward Shepherd's Chapel and students of Shepherd's Chapel and how that makes us feel especially when there are many misconceptions about what we are truly like and what we truly believe. Please be respectful of what other's may believe when making posts here on our forum.

Hi Karen,
That couldn't have been said better, very well done! You've summed it up very nicely... this is a "safe place", our "home", not a debate board or war room. This is a place of fellowship for students of Shepherd's Chapel. A place where people can gather peaceably, share truth with each other, edifying one another as opposed to tearing one another down, (there's plenty enough of that to go around elsewhere).
I for one, am grateful that such a place exists. I have grown so much since I've become active here. Fellowship is absolutely necessary from what I've found, to continue on the spiritual path of growth and maturity. Whether it be a simple comment or something wonderful to share, a perplexing question, or all out crisis (prayer request), it's comforting to know that there's a place with friendly, like-minded folks to go to such as this.
I probably would've never actually had the courage to go to PO this last year if it were not for having met some of the good folks here at the forum. I have been privileged to have met a few here in person and cherish that fact. We are truly scattered, but in the end we may find consolation in knowing that we have a place to congregate and gather strength from the "fellow members" (of the body of Christ). That's definitely something to cherish, not take for granted.
God bless,
Will

What a wonderful, beautifully written testimony for our new members to read when they get here. You expressed how I feel as well, I've grown so much since becoming a member here and have met so many wonderful brothers and sisters, I've been truly blessed by their friendship and help both in my studies and personally in my life. I've gained strength and confidence in myself that has been lost to me for a long time. I'm especially grateful to Don with all his help in teaching me about web sites I didn't have a clue about where to start.

Very Well Said Karen! When I Look On The Internet, Mostly All I See Is Big Lies About The Shepherd's Chapel, About Pastor A. Murray, and About Their Students, and I Just Can Not Hardly Believe That Someone Would Tell Such Big Lies About Us Like That!
Who Ever Tells All These Big Lies About The Shepherd's Chapel, Pastor A. Murray and Their Students, Have Their Own Agenda, and Have Never Really Taken The Time To Truly Listen To What Is Taught At The Shepherd's Chapel, Which Is PURE TRUE HOLY SCRIPTRUES, and NO TRADITIONS Of Men!
Maybe That Is What Throws Them So Much, Is That It Is a Place That Actually Only Teaches CHAPTER By CHAPTER and VERSE By VERSE, ALL Of The PURE TRUE HOLY SCRIPTURES, Without Any Traditions of Men, Because That Is All That They Are Use To Being Taught Is The TRADITIONS Of Men, and NOT ANY Of The PURE TRUE HOLY SCIPTURES!
I Pray That Every Person Would Just Give The Shepherd's Chapel, Pastor A. Murray, and Their Students a Fair Chance To Prove That The PURE TRUE HOLY SCRIPTURES, CHAPTER By CHAPTER and VERSE By VERSE, IS ALL That The Shepherd's Chapel Teaches, and NOT ALL The LIES That Many People Say Is Taught There, Which Is The Biggest Lie Of All!
And Thank You Fellow-Students, For Not Putting Your Light Under a Bushel, But Rather Letting Your Light Shine Before Men!
St. MATTHEW 5:15-16 NEITHER DO Men LIGHT a CANDLE, and PUT IT UNDER a BUSHEL, But ON a CANDLESTICK; and IT GIVETH LIGHT Unto ALL That ARE IN The HOUSE!
16, LET Your LIGHT SO SHINE BEFORE Men, That They MAY SEE Your GOOD WORKS, and GLORIFY Your FATHER Which IS IN HEAVEN!
YHVH BLESS Fellow-Students!

You're right, Canadian...absolutely no tolerance for heresy! Free thinking that does NOT question the clearly written Word of God and it's Authority is ok, as long as it stays in check. We all wonder and can use our imagination on many things that are not specifically detailed in scriptuire... what was the first earth age like, what did I do, what will the next age be like, etc.
As members of this forum what we have to keep in mind is that we are all students of the Word, and our selected teacher is the SC. That is what makes us generally like-minded, which is what makes our fellowship enjoyable. In order to keep our fellowship, we cannot allow doctrines contary to what we understand to be truth, to be supported or taught here. Any other church would uphold the same rule, and would take action if new doctrines caused dissention in their congregation.
People who think they are somehow supernaturally gifted to receive even MORE than what has already been written can stay away from this forum. If they attempt to infiltate our fellowship with doctrines of devils, they'll be banned, no questions asked, no explanation necessary.
If someone thinks long enough and ponders deep enough to search for "hidden" things, they're bound to start connecting things that shouldn't be connected... especially if they look at the scripture that answers their question, but the answer doesn't satisfy. This isn't just a love for God's truth and "deeper study", this moves into pride, eating from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, and the flaunting of an individual's superiority over Christ's sheep.
Nope, won't be tolerated here.

I read this site much more than I post. I do enjoy the way everyone gets along here. I find it difficult to talk to so called Christians about the truth. I know exactly what you mean. It's either the Rapture wall or the Easter wall, or the Apple wall, or you get the point. And like you
said it's pretty much end of conversation. They look at you like your crazy, or better yet, they tell you that your in a cult and need to

Im very thankful to have found this forum. I couldn't wait to get my computer back on line so that I could also study on the internet with Pastor Murray. As I searched, I couldn't believe how hard it was to weed through which site was truly sheperd's chapel. They have mimicked the sheperd's chapel name for their own name to their site and it can be pretty deceiving. I remember PM saying that sheperd's chapel is not affiliated with anyone.
But the way I felt looking for the true sheperd's chapel - looking at and through some of those other sites made the adrenalin rush through my body.
Anyways, I feel very blessed to find comfort here.

Hey Koeta... and everyone,
It's good to have you with us. As you've stated, there are a lot of different sites out there claiming some tie with the teaching of Shepherd's Chapel. We are simply a fellowship comprised of folks who study with Shepherd's Chapel. We're grateful to have found each other and welcome you to our community.
We are not affiliated with the Chapel, but do our best to ensure that all that happens here is conducted by means that would be found acceptable to our pastor and to Christ our Lord. One thing I've often considered throughout the years here is: "What if pastor Murray were to see this statement/topic/thread?"
More importantly, I've pondered: "what would Father think of what I'm about to post for so many to see?" These hypothetical prepositions are not intended for any particular member, this just seems like a good opportunity for us all to evaluate the terms and conditions of this forum. We
are a fellowship.
I am not very proud, but I do consider this forum as an extention of our church, Shepherd's Chapel. This is an excellent means of fellowship with others who study with the Chapel. We are all definitely scattered, but we are not lost. We all have a common ground in the Word... and in the Truth therein, we are one!
I have gained so much since I've found this community. I have shared some, but have acquired so much more than many years of study alone. This is a place to share, study, learn, and grow. Think of it as a "virtual" brick and morter church. We should all try to treat others here as if we we're all face to face.
Again, this does not single out any particular person here, I just thought it would be fitting in this thread to reconsider what our purpose is here. I for one, am grateful to be a member here. There are so many out there now days that claim certain credentials that only come up short due to their own confidences.
Again, welcome Koeta. I'm glad to see you here and look forward to future discussions. I just thought to add thoughts to this thread which I felt were pertinent, but were not intended for you in the very least. My thoughts were intended for all who read this, present and future tense. Let us abide as the Body of Christ!

Will

QUOTE (KarenCharin0 @ Aug 24 2007, 12:45 PM)

Bumping this up,
Lest we forget what our agenda here is.............
First and Foremost, Our agenda here is The Word of God.

Thank you Sarah, this is why I am here and I've never read this statement until today so I am very happy to see that I am indeed in the right place. I feel so blessed to be here and thank you for all that you do to make us all feel at home here studying our Father's word, fellowshipping with each other and reminding each other that no matter what our Father is in control and His will shall be done so therefore we have the victory with Him.
God bless all of you who love our Father with all your heart; all praise and glory to His Holy Name.

Hello , this is Memaw , and this is my first time here , I am just a baby to SC and I feel time is to short for me to learn the things I need to know for the time at hand ...... I also feel I lost 30 years in the church I used to go to .... I learned more in 1 month with Pastor Murry than the 30 years I went there . Am I all alone ?

Those are thirty years of learning...what not to fall for when AC comes.
Father had you there for a reason. There are times when I can get a lesson from things that happened when I was furthest from Christ. It will happen for you too, Memaw.
In Christ,
Jonathan
